Y: The Last Man

With nine out of ten episodes set in a post-apocalyptic world, almost all graphic elements had to be created from scratch. In some cases, this was done to emphasise specific themes—such as designing a stack of books to highlight society’s male-dominated nature and acceptance of toxically masculine behaviours. Similarly, certain graphic elements were inspired by real-life shows, such as a nod to a particular long-running series featuring a strong middle-aged female cop in New York City, focused on "special victims".

Other design work for the series included custom album covers, product labels, show posters and event announcements to product ads and promotional campaigns.

Posters replicating authentic NHL merchandise, featuring real logos, team colors, and player photos provided by the production. This last-minute request required all posters to be designed within four hours, allowing enough time for printing and placement on set before filming began.

A variety of book covers designed for an airport kiosk, featuring a scene where the commercial’s lead notices her own book among the display as she walks by.

Coinbase

Drawing inspiration from the outdated ways we still interact with money in today’s tech-driven world, two custom cheque books were designed and photoshopped to evoke the 1980s. One of the cheque books has a darker twist, reflecting the fact that cheques are becoming a thing of the past.

When specific images are needed to support a plot point, photoshoots aren't always feasible—whether due to time, budget, or practical limitations. For example, depicting a character as bald and beardless in a single photo may not be achievable in reality. In such cases, Photoshop becomes essential, often blending provided photographs with stock elements to create the required visual.
